A 93-YEAR-OLD woman who made a sign telling neighbours “I NEED MORE BEER!!” has had her pleas answered in sensational style.
Olive Veronesi and her homemade placard went viral over the weekend after a picture of her holding it was posted on Facebook by a close family member.
Soon the story was picked up by a local news station, grabbing the attention of millions all over America in the process.
Speaking to Pittsburgh KDLA, the Pennsylvania pensioner revealed she likes nothing more than to kick back on her porch at the end of a busy day with a can of Coors Light.
However, with Olive currently cocooning at home in the quiet town of Seminole during the coronavirus pandemic, she’s been unable to get her hands on more of the low-calorie lager.
That all changed, however, after her picture went viral on social media.
With America facing uncertain times during the coronavirus crisis, Olive’s smiling face and fun-loving request provided some much welcome respite.
It didn’t just catch the eye of the public either - Molson Coors, the brewery behind the beer, also became aware of plight and decided to take action.
In a matter of hours, they had got in touch with her daughter, Anna, to organise a special delivery of 150 beers to help Olive through the rest of the pandemic.
Ninety-three-year-old Olive Veronesi won over the web last week when a photo of her holding a Coors Light and a sign that read “I NEED MORE BEER!!” went viral. On Monday, thanks to @CoorsLight, her dry-erase board had a new message: “GOT MORE BEER!”https://t.co/ImizZB5qld

“When we saw Olive’s message, we knew we had to jump at the chance to not only connect with someone who brought a smile to our faces during this pandemic, but also gave us a special opportunity to say thanks for being a Coors Light fan,” Michelle St. Jacques, Molson Coors Beverage Co.’s chief marketing officer said.
“Even in the pre-COVID era, we would’ve been thrilled to fulfill Olive’s request. But in this moment, during these unusual times, bringing a little bit of joy to someone’s day is the least we can do.”
There’s no danger of Olive overdoing it either.
The secret to her longevity includes drinking in moderation – one can a night, no more, no less – and a healthy dose of exercise with Olive rather partial to a bit of American football.
We’d call this one a touchdown.
