IRELAND IS set to welcome yet more Hollywood talent to its shores this month in the form of actress Elisha Cuthbert.
Cuthbert is best remembered for her role as Kiefer Sutherland’s long-suffering daughter Kim Bauer on the hit action TV series 24.
Her other film credits include Old School and The Girl Next Door, while Cuthbert’s most notable recent television credit came on the sitcom Happy Endings.
Cuthbert is due to star alongside Dublin actor Eoin Macken in the upcoming Irish horror film The Cellar, which is being filmed in Co Roscommon this month.
Written and directed by Brendan Muldowney, The Cellar centres on Keira Woods, a mother forced to confront an ancient force following the disappearance of her daughter in the family's new home.
Described as “the darkest” of nightmares, the film is the latest in a string of horror efforts from Muldowney, whose other credits include Pilgrimage, Love Eternal and Savage.
Cuthbert too, has some experience when it comes to horror movies having starred in the remake of House of Wax alongside Paris Hilton.
Macken, meanwhile, comes with his own horror credentials having starred in the critically-acclaimed Irish horror The Hole in the Ground.
Prior to that, the Dubliner was best known for his work on the small screen and appearances on shows like The Night Shift and Merlin.
The Cellar is due to arrive Irish cinema in 2021 and is being backed by Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland.
