A YOUNG MAN has been left with serious injuries after he was attacked during an aggravated burglary at his home in Carrickfergus, Co. Antrim.
A number of masked men forced their way into the victim’s home on Whinfield Walk in the town and assaulted him with weapons.
Police received the report around 10pm last night.
The victim is in hospital receiving treatment for his many injuries.
The PSNI are appealing for “anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact detectives in Ballymena on 101 quoting reference 1427 29/07/18.”
Detective Inspector Lyle said: "Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
