A YOUNG man has been left in a critical condition after a collision with a Ford Focus.
A 16-year-old boy was rushed to hospital following a crash near the area of Holywood train station in Co. Down.
According to PSNI, the car and pedestrian were involved in a collision which injured the 16-year-old boy.
It is believed the incident happened before 8 pm and the PSNI are currently appealing for witnesses.
The PSNI made a statement asking for any information: "Police are appealing for anyone who was travelling on the A2 and who witnessed the collision, or captured any footage on dashcam, which could assist the police investigation to contact local officers in Bangor on 101 quoting reference 1384 of 01/01/18.
"Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have dash cam footage of the collision."
