14 year old seriously injured in Dublin hit-and-run incident

A 14-YEAR-OLD cyclist was left with serious injuries following a hit and run in Dublin last night.

The boy was hit on the Cheeverstown Road in the suburb of Tallaght and taken to the Intensive Care Unit at Crumlin Children’s Hospital.

The boy, only identified as Sean, suffered "horrific" injuries in the incident, including a broken skull, and fractures in his elbow, leg and ankle.

The boy’s aunt shared these shocking images on social media, showing what was left of the bike after it was hit.

The boy’s dad, John told Dublin’s 98 FM this morning: "I can't understand why somebody would just leave a child like a piece of meat on the road and continue driving."

"Even if the driver was in shock they could have come back, but didn't," he added

Gardai are now investigating the incident.
