Sean Taylor to headline Manchester blues show as festival gets underway

SEAN Taylor is to headline a special Blues gig in honour of Van Morrison, Rory Gallagher and Thin Lizzy this  Saturday night as part of the Manchester Irish Festival.

North London-based Taylor will be headlining the opening night, which forms part of his European tour promoting his new album Chase the Night.

He said: “I’m really looking forward to my visit to Levenshulme again and the M19 bar for the opening weekend of the Festival for this special Blues gig. I have always got a great reception; it’s just like playing Camden”

The night will form part of a ‘Tradfest’ in Levenshulme, where around 100 musicians, singers and dancers will stage numerous gigs and music workshops in the area until St Patrick’s Day on Monday 17 March.

The Blues night will take place on Saturday 8 March in the first floor acoustic room of M19 Bar and Venue in Levenshulme village.

Other artists taking part in the Blues Festival are: Ged Wilson Celtic Blues trio, Hey Bulldog Blues Band, Zacc Rogers, Jo Lewis and Tracey Browne.

Doors open at 7.30pm, with the opening support act on at 7.35pm.
