GARDAI in Ireland were caught off guard when they encountered a disgruntled micropig lost and alone.
Officers found the little animal while on patrol in Co. Wicklow and said they took it into custody on suspicion of being “on its way to market”.
It later emerged that the pig may have been heading in the direction of Co. Monagham.
To try and locate its owner, gardaí posted pictures of the little pig to Twitter, Facebook and 'Instaham' in an apparent attempt to bring home the bacon.
Social media users were quick to oblige with the appeal and suggested that the animal boar a resemblance to Sue the Pig from a Vodafone advert.

One added that the pig was “telling porkies,” while another noted that the police were “porking on a double yellow line”.
The hog was brought by ambulance to the animal hospital in Kilkoole where he waited for his family to collect him.
By 7pm, he had been reunited with his owner – and it emerged that its name was not Sue, but Ziggy.
