Why #IrishSummer is the best thing on Twitter right now

ALTHOUGH the summer months in Ireland and the UK are officially June, July and August, according to the Celtic calendar, Ireland's summer ends today.

And what a summer it's been, while over here we have been enjoying mini heat waves with the Met Office recording temperatures of 28.1C at Kew Gardens, London in June and temperatures hitting 34.5C in Northolt, Middlesex in July.

However the picture has been a little different at home, and damped spirits have been tweeting their disgust using the ironic hashtag #IrishSummer
