THE INTERNET has been getting nostalgic over Viennetta this week as a video showing the creative process behind the ice cream has gone viral.
The video, posted on Facebook by ‘Hong Kong Gourmet' lets ice cream fans see how the dessert, a long-time favourite in Britain and Ireland, is actually made.
The mesmerising video swirls its way through a vast factory, showing a seemingly never-ending strip of the popular ice-cream being slowly built up layer by layer.
The long strip is then chopped into the iconic frozen logs - often the dessert of choice for special occasions for anyone who grew up in the 1980s.
Wall's Viennetta, with its rippled waves of vanilla ice cream and chocolate, was first created in Gloucester in 1981 and launched as a Christmas special in 1982.
New flavours were added in the 1990s including mint, strawberry, cappuccino and praline.
The video has been viewed more than 360,000 times since being uploaded on Facebook in December.
