2020 HAS had a happy ending for one Dublin couple as they got engaged to rounds of applause and cheers from commuters in Pearse Station yesterday evening.
Paula, who works as a train driver with Irish Rail, was pulling into Dublin's Pearse Station last night when she got the surprise of a lifetime.
Her boyfriend--now fiance-- was waiting on the platform for her, with a sign asking 'Will you Marry Me?' while music blared in the background.
The shocked woman brought the train to a stop before stepping onto the platform, where her husband-to-be got down on one knee and asked the all-important question.
The magical moment was caught on camera by midwife Clodagh Maher, who posted it to Twitter alongside the caption:
"Didn't think anything could perk me up after a busy 13hr shift, and some gent goes and PROPOSES to his GF driving the incoming train at Pearse Station!"

Tagging the images as #PearseProposal, the newly engaged Paula found Clodagh's Tweets, and wrote:
"Thank so much for sharing this moment.
"I was so surprised and at the same time excited!
"Thank you everyone who was [involved] to make this moment beautiful and perfect."
