AN IRISH cellist has showcased both his musical talent and the breathtaking scenery of the west of Ireland in a video which has quickly gone viral worldwide.
Musician Patrick Dexter often shares clips of him playing the cello amid the backdrop of the majesty of the west of Ireland wilderness, but his latest cover is one of his most popular by far.
The cellist took to Twitter yesterday to share his cover of the gospel song Amazing Grace, dedicating it to the American people ahead of the US election "from across the Atlantic on the west coast of Ireland".
The soaring music, coupled with birdsong and the backdrop of greenery, water, shadows of clouds moving across the looming mountains and even a rainbow glittering in the sky, has struck inspiration into the hearts of thousands.

Just over 24 hours after being posted, Patrick Dexter's unique cover of Amazing Gracce has so far been viewed more than half a million times, and has racked up 21,000 likes and more than 4,000 retweets.
One person who was particularly touched was Sara Kennedy, an American immigrant who now resides in Kerry. She wrote:
"We so needed that today. An expat here in Dingle, waiting to hear election outcome from the US. It's been a stressful time for us and your music has helped more than you'll ever know."
