NOEL FITZPATRICK, the Irish star of hit TV show Supervet, showed he is never off duty after coming to the aid of a distressed swan in Dublin today.
The world-renowned veterinary surgeon was in Ireland promoting his new autobiography when he spotted the bird in the middle of traffic.
Laois native Prof. Fitzpatrick got out of his taxi and coaxed the bird out of the road before wrapping it in his jacket.
He then carried it to a nearby canal before safely releasing it.
The surrey-based vet shared a video of the incident to his Twitter account.
On route to the next interview in Dublin this afternoon and we came across this poor confused fella who was stuck in the middle of the main road. Having experienced many Swan rescues down the years I knew I could help... mission accomplished...now happy and safe at home x pic.twitter.com/wXoOIk8JKP

In 2005, Prof. Fitzpatrick founded Fitzpatrick Referrals, which specialises in orthopaedics and neurosurgery.
Four years later he became the first veterinary surgeon in the world to successfully apply a cutting-edge amputation prosthesis to a cat that had lost both front paws in an accident.
His work is documented on Channel 4’s hit TV series Supervet, which is now in its 12th season.
