TRIBUTES are pouring in on social media today for the late George Best on what would have been his 72nd birthday.
The Belfast native died on 25 November 2005, at the age of 59.
Fans of the Northern Ireland and Manchester United legend have taken to Twitter to mark the occasion.
Amongst them was Best's own son, Callum Best.
Recognised as one of the most naturally gifted footballers of all time, Best was as much of an icon off the pitch as he was on it.
He set the football world alight as a precocious teenager with Manchester United where he won two League championships in 1965 and 1967, and one European Cup in 1968 - the year he was named European Footballer of the Year.
Fans have been paying tribute to both his sporting talent, as well as his lavish celebrity lifestyle.
