IT might be a little too early to predict a White Christmas just yet but Ireland IS set for snow ahead of the weekend.
Met Éireann has issued a yellow status snow and ice warning for the country.
Up to 3cm of snow over a 24-hour period are possible in parts, weather forecasters have said.
Ireland's meteorological service is predicting that scattered snow showers will hit from late tomorrow and into Thursday night and Friday until about 4pm.
There will also be icy stretches with north and northwest counties most at risk.
Higher ground elsewhere in the country will also be affected.

In Britain meanwhile, Storm Caroline is expected to bring very windy weather to northern Scotland.
Gusts of up to 90mph are possible in exposed areas and people have been warned to look out for flying debris that could lead to injuries or danger to life.
Trains, planes and ferries are also likely to experience cancellations due to rough seas and conditions.
