AN Irish restaurant has created an ‘Irish burger’ for St Patrick’s Day – and it even comes with black pudding between its buns.
Irishman Stephen Lynch moved to New Zealand a few years back and set up his own restaurant – The Burger Bar – six months ago in Auckland.
Each month, the restaurant offers its own ‘monthly special’ burger and with Ireland’s big day on the horizon, the ‘Irish Burger’ makes a lot of sense.
March’s special certainly lives up to its name and it must be said that the ingredients are very, very Irish – with bacon, cabbage and potato all making an appearance.
-
Colcannon potato mash
-
Beef patty infused with stout reduction
-
Irish style sharp cheddar
-
Crumbled black pudding
-
Cheese and onion potato disk
-
Bacon and cabbage salad
-
Wholegrain mustard sauce
The burger looks delicious but even the most ardent patty lovers could be forgiven for not flying over 10,000 miles on it.
Luckily, here in Britain, Hard Rock Cafe are celebrating St Patrick’s Day with their own limited-edition treat.
The Guinness-infused ‘St. Paddy’s Burger’ will be available at Hard Rock Cafe’s in London, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh from March 13 - 19 as the famous chain tip their hats to the Irish national holiday.
The double stack burger comes with two four-ounce patties, bacon, thin-sliced Irish potatoes and is topped with a Guinness cheese sauce on top of a bed of watercress.
If that wasn’t Irish enough the meal is served up with a toasted potato bun.
Good luck getting that down in one go!
