AN IRISH man gave his mother the Christmas present of a lifetime when he made a surprise return home after a year abroad.
John McAleenan, from Co. Down, had been working in New York for the past year, before deciding to head back across the Atlantic and home to his family just in time for the festive season.
He managed to capture the incredible reaction and uploaded the footage to Facebook, which he captioned: “Probably one of the best things I’ve ever done, so glad to be home after a year x.”
