Schoolboy who spiked classmate's drink with Viagra suspended for two days

A SCHOOLBOY who spiked a classmate's drink with Viagra on a trip abroad and broadcast news of the incident on social media has been suspended from school for two days.

The 16-year-old from Etonbury Academy in Arlesey, Bedfordshire was on a six-day trip around Berlin as part of a group of 80 pupils when the incident occurred.

It's not clear how the boy was able to get his hands on the drug.

An increasingly common treatment for erectile dysfunction, Viagra is not available to anyone under the age of 18 and can be dangerous for men suffering from heart problems.

According to The Comet, the 15-year-old victim was also left further humiliated when news of the incident spread to another school after the perpetrator detailed his actions on Snapchat.

He's now been hit with a two-day suspension - but the victim's father believes this doesn't go far enough, given the potential severity of his actions.

"Spiking somebody's drink is appalling. He doesn't know my son's medical history," he told The Comet. "He could have heart problems."

"The school feels two days' suspension is enough of a punishment and I have been told I'm overreacting," he added.

"Two days' suspension for putting a child's life in danger is appalling."

Despite the criticism, the school has stood by its decision which followed an investigation into the incident.

Drink spiking is illegal under UK law, carrying a maximum 10-year prison sentence for anyone found guilty of committing the crime.

Viagra is currently produced by Pfizer, who produce the erectile-dysfunction-fixing drug out of their Cork site in Ireland.
