Research claims women prefer men with ‘dad bods’ over those with six packs

IT’S OFFICIAL: ‘dad bods’ are back in fashion.

In news that is sure to strike fear into the hearts of men with six packs everywhere, new research suggests women actually prefer their partners to be a little podgier.

That’s according to a survey of 2000 women conducted by Planet Fitness.

The results revealed as many as 70 per cent of respondents preferred their partners to be equipped with a little more cushion for the pushin’ than be a sculpted Adonis.

According to the research, much of this has to with the fact men in possession of ‘dad bods’ tend to give off a more relaxed vibe to a potential partner.

It’s an approach that comes off as comfortable, relaxed and inherently confident and apparently makes them more attractive in the process. Or at least, that’s what the research suggests.

It certainly flies in the face of popular shows like the ITV2 reality hit Love Island, where six packs, washboard abs, and gun shows are par for the course.

Embracing the ‘dad bod’ phenomena comes with some obvious benefits of course, though.

Not least in the fact it gives you an excuse to sack off the gym for a few drinks down the pub.

Now we’ll drink to that.
