Made in Ireland? Royal pregnancy sparks rumours Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's baby was conceived on Dublin trip

Could the most famous unborn child in the world have been conceived in Ireland?

Monday's big announcement that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expecting their first child together has sparked intense speculation that the royal tot was conceived during the couple's 'mini-moon' to Dublin in July.

Kensington Palace's statement said the baby is due in Spring 2019 and, unsurprisingly, fans of the Royal Family have been trying to pin down an exact date of conception.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited the Irish capital in late July for their first trip together as a married couple.

The Duchess was seen enjoying a glass of champagne during the British Ambassador's annual summer party at Glencairn House, suggesting she was not pregnant or wasn't aware she was at that point.

Prince Harry was even asked on the trip if he and Meghan were trying for a baby, when one woman said: "My husband also has red hair and he gave me five children - when are you and Meghan going to get going?" – to which he replied: "Five children? Too many".

And it's not unlikely – an Irish conception matches up almost perfectly with rumours the Duchess is around 12 weeks along.

There's also been intense speculation on social media that the child may have been conceived around the time of the wedding of Harry's best friend Charlie Van Straubenzee on August 4 – which just so happened to be Meghan's 37th birthday.

If the tot was indeed conceived in late July/early August, then the Duchess is likely to give birth in April – but Kensington Palace will no doubt keep her due date a closely-guarded secret.

The rumours come after the royal couple completed the first full day of their 16-day royal tour of Australia on Tuesday.

The pair shared their happy news with the "delighted" Queen and other members of the Royal Family at Princess Eugenie's wedding before flying Down Under on Friday.

Apparently less thrilled was Eugenie's mum Fergie, who posted a barrage of tweets immediately after the announcement – none of them about the baby.
