Lost teddy bear of Cork Airport finally reunited with delighted young owner

THE sad tale of a teddy bear lost at Cork Airport has come to a happy ending.

The bear’s owner has been found thanks to his story making headlines across news and social media channels around the world.

Two-year-old Anna from Amsterdam was returning from Ireland after a family visit earlier this month when she lost her best friend in an airport lounge.

Her teddy bear’s lonely adventures were documented by Cork Airport’s Facebook page after he was first discovered on Sunday, February 5.

Posting on Facebook, staff wrote: “This pink Teddy should have been heading off on a flight earlier today but got separated from his travelling companions.

“If you are missing Teddy please contact us.

“Teddy has had his dinner and tea and is relaxing in our lounge at present.”

His story was shared by thousands on social media and also made worldwide news as well-wishing people across the globe tried to help reunite him with his owner.

Teddy is scheduled to finally be back in Anna’s arms today when he flies as a VIP guest on Aer Lingus flight EI 844 from Cork to Amsterdam.

Cork Airport assure that he will be well looked after by cabin crew until he is safely back home where he belongs.

Niall MacCarthy, Managing Director at Cork Airport, said: “We looked after Teddy as well as we look after all our customers – with care and attention.

“The response we have received to Teddy’s story has been astonishing and he has been turned into something of a social media superstar.

“It is truly heart-warming the efforts made by strangers to find Teddy’s young owner and reunite him with her. He has literally been around the world and back again in 80 hours."

After such an unbearable experience, it's great to see the teddy was finally able to get his bearings once again.
