IRELAND’S annual African celebration Africa Day returned in Dublin on Sunday – and one Kerry lad wowed audiences with a bit of unexpected footwork.
Africa Day has been celebrated in Phoenix Park since 2006 when it was brought to Ireland by the charity Irish Aid.
Events took place this year in Dublin, Kildare, Galway, Kilkenny, Limerick and Cork as the celebration goes from strength to strength.
And it was an Irishman who stole the show at the Phoenix Park event as Kerry native Maurice Quilter got the party going with his show-stealing dance moves.
A video of Maurice’s moves has been viewed over 18,000 times and received almost 1,000 likes since it was posted to Facebook on Sunday evening.
“He killed it,” posted one impressed commenter. “I need more lessons.”
Another wrote: “He stunned me when I saw him dance for the first time.”
Go on Maurice!
