Single Irish woman who spent €1,500 on dream wedding launches TV appeal to find a groom

AN IRISH bride-to-be has appeared on television to talk about her upcoming nuptials.

There’s just one thing missing from her big day – a groom.

Dubliner Theresa Mahon appeared on ITV’s This Morning to discuss how she has spent much of the past year planning her dream wedding.

So far, she’s spent close to €1,500 on the big day, with the dress costing around €1,000.

Despite having her dream day completely planned out, Mahon has yet to find a special someone to share it with.

The 38-year-old was with her previous partner for 12 years and the pair discussed marriage.

Ultimately, however, they ended up going their separate ways.

"I genuinely thought he'd be my prince charming, but unfortunately, no," she told Holly Willoughby.

"When the prince charming eventually comes along, there'll be little planning to do."

Mahon isn’t giving up on her dream though and continues to take inspiration from the story of Disney character Cinderella.

"I just love the whole “she's gone from having quite a hard life and now she's just this beautiful bride," she said.

"Now, I’d 100% compromise, the only thing I wouldn’t compromise on would be the first dance song.

"Because the song is A Thousand Years by Christina Perri, and the lyrics mean so much to me, like she’d been waiting so many years to meet this person, and she’s finally met them, and that’s why I couldn’t change that.

"But anything else I would be willing to compromise."
