MEMBERS of the Irish public can avail of Canadian work permits starting 4th November 2017.
The permits can be used for people between the ages of 18 and 35 and were split into categories, Working Holiday permits (7,700 permits), Young Professionals permits (2,500 permits), and International 'Co-Op' permits (500 permits) for those of Irish people who have been granted an internship in Canada.
The Young Professional and Working Holiday permits can last for up to two years and Co-Op permits last up to 12 months.
Ruarí Spillane, Irish expat and founder of Moving2Canada, a website which informs Irish people about working in and moving to Canada, spoke about the importance of filling out the forms needed to move and work correctly.
Ruarí explained: "Every year, people think they can pay an agency a few hundred euro, and they'll get the work permit into their hands. That's simply not the case.
"Everyone stands the same chance of getting a work permit, whether you pay an agency, or go the DIY route. Agencies can give advice, but ultimately, the applicant still needs to fill out the forms themselves.
"That's why we created Moving2Canada. It's a free information resource where emigrants can learn all they need to know about the application process and save money on their move."
More than 10,ooo new work permits have been supplied as part of a 2018 International Experience Canada initiative, a programme between Canada and other countries which allows people to live and work in Canada.
