Ireland's West kept scenery secret is out!

A NEW book by photographer Carsten Krieger shows Ireland’s rugged West Coast in a new light.

Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way, is a photographic tour de force by one of Ireland’s most published photographers.

Krieger has compiled a collection of images that expertly captures this unique and breath-taking coastline.

The book captures dramatic scenes of land and sea, as well as lighthouses, harbours and quaint seaside villages.

German-born Krieger lives in Co. Clare, where he lives with his family,

The book shares its name with the Fáilte Ireland campaign, launched last year, hoping to turn some of the less-visited and overlooked spots on the west coast into fashionable tourism destinations.

The route, starting at the Inishowen peninsula and finishing at the Old Head of Kinsale in Co.Cork, now has its own dedicated website, offering advice for travel along the route, much of which is as remote as it is picturesque.

A YouTube video released earlier this year as part of the campaign, showing a birds-eye view of the route, has received over 179,000 views.

The book, published by O'Brien Press, is available here.
