WITH postcards a thing of the past we’re all putting our holiday snaps on Instagram to show everyone at home what they’re missing.
Now research involving almost 500 tourist spots from around the world has ranked them based on the amount of tags they received on the social media platform – and a number of Irish attractions feature prominently.
So which Irish destination is the most popular among holiday snappers? Blarney Castle? The Cliffs of Moher?
Not exactly. Ranking highest on Travelbird's list is Giant’s Causeway in Co. Antrim with 128,029 Instagram tags – the 95th highest in the world.
The Guinness Storehouse unsurprisingly ranked highly on the list, coming in second place in Ireland with 34,782 tags and 151st in the world overall.
Tayto Park in Co. Meath also performed well, claiming the third spot in Ireland with 16,797 tags and 197th on Earth.
