IRELAND'S first and only festival for dogs took place in Dublin over the weekend.
The 'Doggie Do' took over the city's Merrion Square all day on Saturday with skateboarding beagles, costumed canines, pooch smooching and a Doggie & Soul chill out area complete with water bar, comfy cushions and a relaxing dog-friendly sound-track.
One thousand people and around 400 dogs turned out to enjoy the festival which culminated in an open-air screening of Lady and the Tramp.

The "family-friendly dog-centric extravaganza" was inspired by the annual Halloween Dog Parade in New York City’s East Village, which brings a community of dog-owners together and gives them an excuse to dress their furry friends in silly costumes.
The Doggie Do also had a competitive element with The Dog of Dublin 2015 canine costume competition.
Dogs were judged on their "charisma, charm, originality and style" with extra marks for owners who dressed up to.
The winner was Missi and her owner Vivienne Woodlock.
As well as all the fun stuff, organisers made sure the festival had "a strong emphasis on responsible dog ownership" with a Q&A session with vet Sinead Kelly, representatives from Dogs Trust on site and two of Ireland’s best trainers, Ali Ramsey and Sinead Hughes in attendance.
