Gas Networks Ireland called out to Dublin home after man 'sets off carbon monoxide alarm' with his own fart

AN Irishman sparked a carbon monoxide scare at his own Dublin apartment after his fart literally set alarm bells ringing.

The man's girlfriend took to Twitter to spread news of the gas story – which occurred early in the morning after St Patrick's Day – before hundreds of amused users quickly caught wind of the hilarity.

A red-faced Ziz O'Beirne tweeted: "Hi my boyfriend set off our Co2 alarm after a fart.

"Now we have a man dressed as a ghost buster from Gas Networks Ireland roaming around our apartment at 7AM on a Bank Holiday Monday.

"Is this what happens when you live with a boy? Help pls".

In a later update, Ziz said: "This man is now going around our apartment block waking up our neighbours and checking their boilers.

"Good to be cautious but deep down I know the cause of this whole ordeal was a rake of pints and an alarm that was too closely placed to my boyfriend's side of the bed."

After her tweets went viral, Ziz assured her followers that there was no sign of any deadly carbon monoxide fumes in her building following the inspection.

She added: "Just to confirm, I have no accurate way of showing that his fart literally set off the alarm.

"Its just a ridiculously close coincidence that they both followed one another.

"After inspection of the apartment block there was no sign of any carbon monoxide. We'll never know the toot."

Pure gas!
