Galway hosting Ireland’s first ever Alpaca Yoga class

A DIFFERENT kind of yoga class is coming to Galway later this month and you may want to Alpaca bag for it.

There are few experiences more unique that an encounter with an alpaca.

Tall and strong but soft and friendly and stunning to look at, alpacas are one of the most distinctive mammals in the entire animal kingdom.

It’s little wonder then that a string of alpaca farms has opened in the UK and Ireland over the past few years offering visitors a chance to interact with these gorgeous creatures.

Places like Curraghduff Alpaca Farm in Oughterard Co.Galway where the alpaca experiences on offer range walks to meet and greets with the animal.

Now Curraghduff is taking things to the next level with Ireland’s first ever alpaca yoga class.

On August 23, yoga enthusiasts will be invited to attend an outdoor session in the beautiful surrounds of Lough Corrib and in the company of a field of alpacas.

Once the session is complete, you’ll be invited to enjoy a spot of tea and cake in this most magical of settings.

A relatively new concept, an alpaca farm in Devon was the first to introduce alpaca yoga classes to visitors.

Calming for the mind, body and soul, they found that the mere presence of alpacas helped reduce stress levels among those inattendance.

Among the most relaxed animals on the planet, the alpacas also feed off the relaxed vibes of those partaking in the yoga, resulting in a mutually beneficial experience all round.

The Galway alpaca yoga class is currently being billed as a one-off, but should it prove popular then more could follow.

Say hello to the alpaca-lypse.
