THIS father of the bride surprised guests at his daughter's wedding in Ireland with an impromptu performance of a traditional Irish dance.
John Breheny, Managing Director of Manchester-based Rosgal Construction Limited, stepped up on a half barrel and tapped out a step or two in honour of the big day in Co. Mayo.
Half barrels are traditionally used by Sean Nós dancers at weddings and American wakes.
In competitions they are made from whiskey barrels, while some have a steel rim so you can hear the taps.
The Breheny wedding was staged at Beleek Castle in Ballina with guests flying in from Manchester and around the world to attend the celebration.
Mayo-based Atlantic Rhythm had been booked to entertain the guests but John and daughter Kerry could not resist having a go themselves.
Tony Hennigan, one of the wedding guests, said: "It was a great event.
"You would be hard pressed to find a venue as good as Beleek in any part of Ireland.
"We had a great time and would like to congratulate the new Mr and Mrs Penrith and wish them every happiness together."
