COPPER FACE Jacks night club is up for sale.
Something of an institution in the Dublin clubbing scene, Coppers was first established some 23 years ago and has been a popular part of a night out in the capital ever since. It has gone on the market as part of the Jackson Court Hotel, with the sale set to be completed by private treaty.
The club is being sold as part of a going concern. Current owners Cathal and Paula Jackson are keen to retire and have decided to sell the hotel and night club.
The hotel complex comprises 36 bedrooms along with seven bars and three beer gardens. Dermot Curtin of DC Curtin & Associates have been appointed to handle all aspects of the sale with initial reports suggesting the property could fetch as much as €40 million.
"It is now time to hand over the reins to new owners who have the energy and the expertise to take Coppers to the next level and to continue to deliver the "best night out in Dublin" to all our great and loyal customers," Mr Jackson told RTE.
The selling agent has not indicated the price of 'Coppers' but market sources suggested it could reach up to €40 million.
“The opportunity to acquire both the iconic ‘Coppers’ and the substantial Jackson Court Hotel is one of those projects that come to market once in a generation,” Mr Curtin said. Much of this projected €40 million valuation resides in the five buildings that make up the property located on Dublin’s Harcourt St.
First opened in 1996, Copper Face Jacks has undergone major renovations in the decades since and has remains a popular venue for students and young clubbers.
