Dubliner Niamh Geaney wants you to help her find her twin stranger

DO YOU look like Niamh Geaney?

Geany, a 26 year old Dubliner, has embarked on a mission to find her 'twin stranger' or a doppleganger.

Originally from Co. Kerry but living in Rathmines, Co. Dublin, Geaney wants to "find someone out there who looks crazily similar to me."

Geaney was inspired by Devon born journalist Sophie Robehmed, who became fascinated by the  idea that there might be someone out there who looked exactly like her and began searching for her doppleganger.

In the end Robehmed's closest 'twin' match, Birmingham native Lauren Hatcher, got in touch through a friend and the pair met face to face in London's Covent Garden.

Geaney hopes she can do the same.

The idea was hatched with two friends, Terence and Harry, from Dublin City University.

The three decided to make a "friendly bet" to see who could find their closest lookalike within 28 days.

Today marks day one of the campaign which Geaney hopes to publicise via Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest.

"It would be amazing if it was someone from some other country," Geaney told The Irish Post.

Geaney and her friends intend to share the replies they get on their website twinstrangers.com over the coming weeks.

Once the experiment is complete Geany is hoping to meet her lookalike. "It would be great if they were in Hawaii or something...we could go over and meet them and have a cup of tea."
