Cuimhne Cup returns to Coventry this weekend

THE second annual Cuimhne Cup will take place in Coventry this Saturday, July 25.

Designed to raise health awareness among men aged 45 or over in the Irish community across Britain, the one-day tournament offers something for all the family.

A collaborative project between the Irish in Britain organisation and St Finbarr’s GAA and social club in Coventry, the day will include a GAA tournament, children’s activities, musical entertainment and refreshments.

The free event, which is being held at St Finbarr’s in Holbrook Lane, will also feature a reading by award-winning author Martin Slevin, from his book The Little Girl in the Radiator, which documents his experience of his mother’s battle with Alzheimer’s.

A range of health information stalls will be in operation on the day, while John Osborne, from the Musicworks project, will make a presentation on the therapeutic value of music in dementia care during the event.

All are welcome to attend. For further information visit www.irishinbritain.org or contact Charlotte Curran on [email protected]
