The heatwave on the Emerald Isle looks to keep on going.
Yesterday saw the hottest temperature of the year recorded in the town of Oak Park, County Carlow, where temperatures reached 27C in the afternoon.
With an outlook of rising temperatures for the remainder of the week, the Irish public got the first taste of an end of June heatwave with a blistering day all over the country today.
Met Éireann has said the country can expect dry and mostly sunny conditions by day from Tuesday to Friday, while the night will remain warm with minimum temperatures in the low to mid-teens.
Temperatures have been predicted to reach as high as 32C this week, and while many people are delighted to see the sun stay for longer, others aren't as happy for the hot weather.
Irish people by nature are known to love a good moan and the heatwave is knocking the socks off some people from the looks of social media.
I think that it says something about my Irish identity that even with Met Eireann weather warnings for the heat all this week, I still brought an umbrella with me today, just in case... #heatwave
