THE BBC is coming in for flak after the British broadcaster sub-filed an online article about flooding in Galway under 'Northern Ireland'.
Over 55,000 Irish people have been left without power after Storm Eleanor wrought havoc across the Emerald Isle on Tuesday evening, with Co. Galway one of the areas worst affected by coastal flooding.
Several homes and businesses in Galway city centre were under water last night leaving homes and businesses submerged and drivers stranded.
Reporting on the storm, the Beeb stressed that the storm was striking the 'British Isles' without mention of Ireland, before sub-filing their story about Galway's floods under their 'Northern Ireland' section.
Unsurprisingly, Irish people weren't in the least bit happy about the broadcaster's decision given that the border with Northern Ireland is over 200km east of the city.
One tweeted: "TIME TO GET THEIR S*** TOGETHER! This is just getting sad at this point. Hi we are Ireland a whole other country you DON'T own".
Another wrote: "When are people over here going to realize that they don't give two s***s about us?"
While a third joked: "I always get Galway and Belfast mixed up, never knew other people suffered the same affliction."
Come on Beeb, it's not that difficult to understand.
