PROPERTY website Airbnb has revealed the place Irish people most want to stay when on holiday in Ireland.
When it comes to enjoying the Irish way of life, there's one place that tops tourists' wish-lists.
For £118 per night, this 15th century Galway castle is proving to be a popular choice for those visiting the Emerald Isle.
Accommodating five guests, the medieval castle is located in Craughwell, to the east of Galway City (about a 25-minute drive) and the south of Athenry.
Guests stay in the master bedroom - the highest room in the property, which has been restored to its original state.
There's also access to the turret for those who really want to be king of the castle. Or if you're after something a bit more quirky - try the bath in the living room.
With oak beams and limestone throughout, it also makes best use of technology to include solar water heating.
"I spent the last 10 years refining and refurbishing the castle," says host Peter who describes himself as an eccentric stonemason, father, and proud castle owner.
A former clothing designer, he now cuts stone and works on castles across Ireland.
Of Craughwell, he adds: "Remember, this is a castle that is over 600 years old. That means it's not perfect. Castles were never designed with bathrooms and showers, so we've improvised.
"You'll have to come downstairs to have a bath which is located in the living room - this is the quirkiest part of the castle."
