'Help me get Gary Barlow to my 30th birthday party' - Is Michelle Boylan Ireland's biggest Take That fan?

A CO. DONEGAL woman has taken to Twitter to tempt Take That singer Gary Barlow to her 30th birthday party.

Michelle Boylan, 29, from Glenties is hoping the star will be the surprise guest at her 30th birthday on Saturday, July 30.

British singer Barlow, 45, spent the last year surprising fans by turning up unannounced to sing at weddings.

In March he encouraged fans with milestone birthdays this year to get in touch via Twitter and start campaigning for an appearance from him.

Those hoping to be serenaded by him have been inundating the singer with tweets requesting an appearance at birthdays.

He surprised a Scottish fan last weekend, turning up to sing at Jill Campbell’s 30th birthday party in Dundee on May 22.

Donegal's Michelle, a mum and care assistant, is now hoping he will make the journey across the Irish Sea.

Talking to the Irish Post she said: “I’m trying to get all of Ireland to get behind me and give my campaign a push.

"I want to get everyone in Ireland and all the Irish celebrities to tweet Gary and tell him to come to my party.”

Michelle wasn't a Twitter user before launching her campaign on May 18 but now has a dedicated account @garytotheparty from which she has been contacting Irish celebrities to get them to back her campaign.

“Last night I tweeted Chris O’Dowd, he’s only two counties over from me, and he said "no, just no," she joked.

She has also been contacting hotels as well as Derry Airport to get them involved by offering Barlow flights and a place to stay.

“I want to give Gary an incentive to come and stay in Donegal, we have a very beautiful county here,” she said.

Kieran Kennedy, owner of the Glenties Gastro pub Kennedy’s where Michelle’s party will take place, is also keen to offer the singer a warm Donegal welcome.

“We’d be very enthusiastic about it, he’d get a huge welcome here, so he would,” he said.
