TWO WOMEN thought to be the oldest identical twins in the UK at the time revealed the secret to their long and healthy lives.

10th September 2019, the then 95-year-old pair Lilian Cox and Doris Hobday, from Tipton in the West Midlands lifted the lid on their longevity during an appearance on ITVs’ This Morning.
The twosome, known more commonly as the Tipton Twins on social media, appeared alongside Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby to offer some sage advice.
However, their tips left many fans gobsmacked, with the 95-year-olds explaining they lived by a simple rule of “no sex and plenty of Guinness.”
The sisters admitted their approach wasn’t for everyone, of course, with one recalling an encounter: “One woman said – I like my Guinness but I do like my sex.”
Not that everything they said entirely made sense.

At one point, Lilian admitted she had only packed one pair of pants for the trip to London and planned on recycling her drawers before they returned home.
In any case, the Tipton twins were in for a treat when they returned to their dressing room after the appearance, with staff behind the scenes treating the pair to a few cans of the black stuff.
It’s not the first time Irish booze has been cited as a key ingredient to a long and healthy life either.

In 2018, a 112-year-old woman from Liverpool revealed her secret to a long and happy life: a nightly dram of whiskey.
"Whiskey is very good for you," she told the Mail.
"I started having a nightly tot of it when I turned 50 so I've been having it every night for the last 60 years and I certainly have no intention of stopping now.
"My doctor said, 'keep up with the whiskey Grace, it's good for your heart'."

Sadly, since then, both Both Lil and Doris caught Covid-19 in January 2021. Although they seemed to be fighting it, tragically, on 5 January 2021, Doris passed away after fighting a battle with the virus, with her family writing that she was "still running fast but unfortunately had some hurdles put in her way and she wasn’t strong enough to fight Covid."
Her sister, Lil, was "devastated" without her sister, as she prepared for her 97th birthday
