THE 2014 Manchester Irish Festival is now well in full swing with some hugely exciting events taking place over the weekend.
The festival was launched earlier this month in great style once again with a concert and gathering in the great hall in Manchester Town Hall.
The festival was officially launched by acclaimed Irish artist Robert Ballagh, who talked about his earlier life as a musician in the Chessmen Showband, which toured extensively around Ireland and Britain back in the ’60s and ’70s.
Robert then went on to produce over 70 stamps for An Post and also designed the final series of Irish banknotes before the introduction of the Euro.
