LIVERPOOL’S Irish community pulled on their most stylish outfits to step out for the city’s annual St Patrick’s Day Ball.
Organised by the Institute of Irish Studies at the University of Liverpool, the black-tie event held at the Britannia Adelphi Hotel marked its 17th year.
Sponsored by Tourism Ireland for 2014, the glitzy dinner dance brought Irish community members together with staff, students and supporters of the Institute.
BBC presenter Roger Philips acted as MC for the night, where a five course dinner was followed by impressive traditional Irish dancing and musical displays, topped off with a bustling auction.
The Institute is due to open a London branch this year.
