IRISH soccer legend and former Leeds United footballer Johnny Giles opened the annual Leeds St Patrick's Day parade.
The 73-year-old Dubliner, who now resides in Birmingham, was on hand to get the celebrations underway as thousands of people lined the streets.
A large crowd, decked out in green, then packed the steps up to Leeds City Museum to witness a colourful convoy of floats, pipe and brass bands, banners and tractors march from Millennium Square.
