THE IRELAND Funds Young Leaders from around the world hosted an event together on Saturday 23rd September – The Irish Run the World Global 5k.
The event spanned over 20 hours and covered 85km in 17 cities around the world.
Starting in Brisbane, Australia, the Young Leaders ran a 5k in their respective cities before passing the ‘virtual baton’ off to the next city. The Global 5k concluded when the last Young Leader crossed the finish line in San Francisco.
The London 5k took place in Greenwich Park on a beautiful autumn morning and attracted an enthusiastic gathering of runners, who all seemed to thoroughly enjoy the occasion before retiring to the nearby Greenwich Tavern to recuperate.
