THE INAUGURAL Harrow Whisky Festival took place last weekend at the Grim's Dyke hotel in Harrow Weald, where whiskies from over 40 distilleries around the world were enjoyed by the large numbers who attended.
The festival featured tasting sessions, talks and music, as well as a distiller banquet on Friday evening and a whisky breakfast/brunch on Saturday morning.
A range of whiskeys from Ireland featured in the festival and there was a dedicated Ireland table which proved to be very popular.
Live music and entertainment was provided by Gerry Molumby from Triskellion Irish Theatre and Concert Productions and singer and multi-instrumentalist and Irish Post columnist Joe Giltrap.
One of the stars of the weekend was a limited edition 15 Year Old Single Malt, made by the Teeling Whiskey Company. 'The Revival' was recently released by The Teeling Whiskey Company to mark the opening of its new distillery, the first in Dublin for over 125 years.
Mary McGowan and Robin Cooke, Directors of the Grim's Dyke hotel and organisers of the Harrow Whisky Festival, were delighted with the success of the event and are already planning next year's event.
