Shamrock Shake-flavoured beer released just in time for St Patrick's Day

OKAY, WE need to try this.

A Sligo-based brewery has come up with an ingenious new beer, and we reckon it'll be a hit coming up to Saint Patrick's Day.

The White Hag brewery are known for putting unique twists on their craft ales, and this newest flavour is causing a stir online.

The newest addition to the Spree Series is the delectable Shamrock Shake Ice Cream Ale, based off the popular McDonald's Shamrock Shake which hits restaurants in the lead-up to St Patrick's Day each year.

The pale ale has 5.5% volume and comes in a 330ml can-- oh, and it's bright green.

The "one day only celebration beer" to mark Paddy's Day  boasts "aromatic mint on the nose, followed by a cool lingering peppermint flavour and a creamy soft 'milk-shakey' body", the geniuses at The White Hag say.

Chicago may dye its river green, and bars across the US may dye their beers green for the big day, but this is the real thing-- we're definitely going to give it a try.

The 330ml cans are individually priced on CraftCentral for €2.50 each, or you can grab the sample case containing 8 Shamrock Shakes, 8 Little Fawns and 8 Phantoms directly from The White Hag for €60.

If you want to try the epic Shamrock Shake Ice Cream Ale for yourself, you can check out The White Hag website here for the sample case, or buy the cans individually on CraftCentral.
