There are milkshakes and then there’s the Shamrock Shake, an Irish favourite with a history dating back decades.
Plenty of variations exist when it comes to the Shamrock Shake. There’s really only one rule: there’s got to be a bit of green on show.
Even so, some shamrock shake recipes may suit your palate better than others. Here are The Irish Post, we’ve gone for this especially boozy creation, which comes via Cake n Knife.
What you’ll need:
2 1/2 ounces Irish whiskey (Preferably Jameson)
2 ounces crème de menthe
2 cups vanilla ice cream
whipped cream
How to make it:
1. Blend the whiskey, vanilla ice cream, creme de menthe, and milk together until smooth.
2. Check to make sure no lumps are left in the mixture, using a knife or spoon.
3. Pour the smooth mix into a large glass, top with whipped cream and serve.
It's the simplest recipe you'll ever follow and one that's guaranteed to leave you feeling jolly. Enjoy!
