Dublin seafood restaurant named best in Europe

A RESTAURANT in Dublin has been named as the best seafood restaurant in all of Europe.

SOLE Seafood & Grill on South William Street was awarded the prize at the World Luxury Restaurant Awards, which took place in St Petersburg, Russia over the weekend.

The restaurant was the only Irish establishment to receive an award during the ceremony, but what an award it was.

Richie Wilson, Executive Head Chef at SOLE, said: “The team at SOLE are absolutely blown away.

“Since opening in 2018, the whole team have worked so hard to raise the standard of seafood in Dublin and offer patrons a top quality dining experience with irish produce on top the top of our agenda.

“To win such a prestigious award is such a testament to the whole team’s passion and dedication,” he added.

Let that be a lesson to all those who come to Ireland and think that a chipper is the best we’ve got to offer. Don’t get me wrong, we do an outstanding fish & chips, but those you think our seafood credentials lacked expertise, think again.

The World Luxury Restaurant Awards began in 2015 and are considered to be the most prestigious awards for the luxury dining industry.

There were over 800 entries to the 2019 awards and over 100,000 votes cast - by guests, diners and those in the industry - over a four week period to select the winners.

We’ll see you in there, I guess.
