Limerick teacher Aileen Rouine has been announced as the newest member of Uniform Education's Irish recruitment team.

Aileen will be working closely with both NQTs and experienced teachers from Ireland who, like herself, have made the decision to emigrate to London to teach.

In her new role as the Irish candidate attraction manager, Aileen will be responsible for assisting teachers in their relocation from Ireland to London.

She will be helping them to secure a long-term position in a school that suits them and most importantly, supporting them while they adapt to their new surroundings.

Over the course of 2017, Aileen will be attending university fairs across Ireland in; Cork, Dublin, Galway and Limerick.

Originally from Adare, Co. Limerick, both Aileen’s parents hail from Ennistymon, Co. Clare, so she'll often find herself shouting for the banner county.

But due to the lack of teaching opportunities in Ireland, Aileen and her husband moved to London after graduating from the National University of Ireland, Galway in 2012.

Subsequently, Aileen successfully gained the experience and hours needed to become fully registered by the Irish Teaching Council.

Reflecting on her relocation to London, she said: "It was extremely easy for me to get a teaching position in London.

"I was incredibly grateful that I had a long term post just an hours flight from home.

"Initially, I decided to do daily supply to get a feel for the different areas in London and the UK system.

"Having gained some valuable experience, I then took on a long term post in Croydon where I taught Geography up to KS4 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience."

Uniform Education are offering fantastic packages to support Irish teachers in their relocation to the UK.
