THE Luton-based Ladies' Irish Golf Society enjoyed a fantastic St Patrick's Day competition with Angela O'Flaherty walking away with the trophy, while runner-up was Carol Clarke with Breda Fisher finishing third.
The society, whose philosophy is enjoyable golf and great friendship, was formed on St Patrick's Day in 1995. In the beginning, they had about 12 members, but now number 40 in total.
They celebrated their 20th anniversary last year in Westport and continue to welcome new members. The club also join up for mixed matches with the long-established Luton Irish Mens' Golf Society.
