HERE is the first look at the much-anticipated film adaptation of John Banville's Booker prize winner, The Sea.
Starring Belfast actor Ciarán Hinds and Charlotte Rampling, the film sees Hinds play a grieving widower who returns to the seaside village in Co Wexford that he visited as a child.
On his return, however, he is haunted by the memories of a past tragedy which had occurred there.
Stephen Brown directs the feature which was shot in Ireland last summer and co-stars Sinead Cusack.
The film received its world premiere at the Edinburgh film festival last month, and will be released in Britain in September.
Look out for an in-depth interview with John Banville in the next issue of The Irish Post, out July 17.
