Watch! Irish singer stuns on The Voice

A COUNTY Clare woman has emerged as one to watch on BBC’s The Voice after stunning the coaches with a haunting Bob Dylan cover.

Sharon Murphy, 52, moved Tom Jones to tears with her voice and also won the hearts of the coaches and viewers alike with her heart-breaking tale of her childhood.

Raised in an orphanage in Co Clare, Sharon experienced racism as a black woman growing up in Ireland at the time.

Finding solace in her singing, Sharon decided to audition for this year’s The Voice and she was a hit with the coaches.

“You hit me in the heart,” said Tom jones, while Rita Ora added that her performance had left her “mesmerised”.

Both Tom Jones and Ricky Wilson turned around for her, with Sharon settling on going with Team Tom.
