SINGER Imelda May has performed the Irish national anthem in Las Vegas.
The singer had been due to performing at Down On The Close in Rugby at the weekend but cancelled when asked to sing for UFC champ Conor McGregor in Las Vegas.
The Dubliner gave a stunning performance of Amhrán na bhFiann as McGregor prepared to enter the ring to face Floyd Mayweather.
The singer announced the news on Twitter and also apologised to fans who had bought tickets to her gig in England.
She described singing the national anthem in Vegas as a once in a lifetime opportunity.
"I'm very sorry to announce I'm unable to perform at the 450th school anniversary in Rugby tomorrow," she said.
"I was really looking forward to it, and hate to cancel on you all so last minute but I have just been offered a once in a lifetime opportunity that I can't turn down.
"I hope you will understand," she added.
